I started working at Unity Care NW in April of 2018. I completed my MSW in Social Work in 2001 from Eastern Washington University. I earned a BA in Psychology from Western Washington University in 1997. I have been providing counseling to people for nearly 20 years. I have experience in Hospice Social Work, as well as Clinical Management experience. I have also worked in Emergency Departments as a Crisis Counselor and have had a private counseling practice in Spokane and Olympia Washington. I am foundationally trained in Dialectical Behavior therapy, and utilize Narrative, Acceptance and Commitment and Cognitive Behavioral therapy approaches in my work with people. Mindfulness based stress reduction is a mainstay in my work. I am also an approved Clinical Supervisor and look forward to mentoring the skills of other counselors as we move forward in our careers. What I strive to do is help relieve the emotional suffering of others through compassion, supportive presence, and a collaborative style that focuses on strengths and capacities of each person.
