CVS Health Awards Community Grant to UCNW

We are excited to announce that Unity Care NW’s Whatcom Veggie Rx Program recently received a $15,000 CVS Health Community Grant as part of CVS Health’s commitment to building healthier communities.

The Whatcom Veggie RX Program provides vouchers for fruits and veggies, training for cooking healthier meals, and sessions with providers and our Dietician. Currently, the pilot version of the program has been a huge hit, helping individuals with uncontrolled diabetes. Starting in March 2020, we will make our Veggie RX Program permanent and expand it to more individuals thanks to the support of CVS Health!

“As a pharmacy innovation company, we are committed to helping people on their path to better health. We are proud to support organizations that increase access to quality health care because we know their efforts are critical to delivering better community health,” said Eileen Howard Boone, Senior Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility and Philanthropy, CVS Health. “We are pleased to support the work that Unity Care NW does in the community and we look forward to working with them to fulfill their program’s mission.”
