Unity Care NW Announces $25,000 Resilience Fund award from Whatcom Community Foundation

We would like to thank Whatcom Community Foundation for awarding Unity Care NW another $25,000 from their Resilience Fund in support of COVID-19 relief. This funding makes a tremendous difference in our ability to continue delivering quality, affordable health care to our community in this time of great need.

COVID-19 funding has enabled Unity Care NW to deliver care safely and effectively. We have established screening protocols for in-person visits, transitioned some visits to telehealth, implemented pharmacy curbside pick-up and delivery services, and made physical improvements to our facilities to increase safety. In our dental department, we installed air extractors to keep patients and staff safe during some dental procedures, and we are creating a new Respiratory Clinic for those patients experiencing flu-like and other respiratory symptoms, which will be completed in September.

We are grateful to all of our generous donors who have helped us adapt quickly and innovate during this crisis:

These supporters, along with funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the CARES Act, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Paycheck Protection Program, and the Federal Communications Commission, have made it possible for us to continue serving patients through the pandemic and ensure that we will be here for the community after this crisis as well.
