I joined Unity Care NW in 2025. I received my masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University in 2024. I also hold a PhD in Neuroscience (Michigan State, 2008) and am still actively engaged in research in brain injury, aging, chronic illnesses, and cognitive science topics such as mindfulness meditation.
Over the years, I’ve served as a STEM teacher, professor, and researcher, but found my calling as a therapist after caring for a close family member who lost her fight with dementia. It’s my goal to leverage these experiences to assist individuals and families – particularly those coping with chronic, acute, and terminal illness – through approaches like Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Focused Acceptance and Commitment therapy (FACT). I also provide EMDR and clinical hypnotherapy.
Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, trail running, and working around our family fruit-and-egg farm with my wife and two teenage children.
