A book in a child’s hands does more than entertain. It builds language. It supports brain development. And when a parent or caregiver reads aloud, it strengthens the bond between them.
As a partner in Reach Out & Read, our clinicians talk with families at every well-child visit about the power of reading together, and every patient age 5 and under leaves with a brand-new book to take home and keep.
This Community Health Center Week, we’re asking you to help us build on this momentum.
How you can help
Drop off new or gently used children’s books for ages 0–5 at the donation bins at either of our locations from August 3 -7, 8:00AM – 5:00 PM:
Board books, picture books, bilingual titles, and well-loved favorites are all welcome. Every book donated helps us stock our waiting room shelves so more of our youngest patients can start building a home library.
Why it matters
Reading with a young child is one of the simplest, most effective things a family can do to support early development. For many of our patients, the book they receive at a well-child visit is the first one they own. A stocked shelf means we can keep that promise for every child who walks through our doors.
Thank you for helping us give our littlest patients a strong start.
