Hygiene Services
Access for People Experiencing Homelessness
The Way Station Health & Hygiene Center offers showers, laundry, restrooms, and health care at no cost. Any unhoused individual who needs these services is welcome here.

The Way Station is located in downtown Bellingham near transportation facilities and other social and health services.
After entering the first set of doors, you'll find yourself in a small vestibule which leads to hygiene services.
Visitors can check-in for either Health or Hygiene services at the front desk.
Just past the front desk and waiting area are single-use restrooms.
Laundry machines and showers are available in the back of the building.
There are also two open sinks with mirrors for visitors who want to freshen up minimally.
Four single use showers can be found past the laundry area. Soap dispensers are installed in each.
Returning to the entrance, visitors are able to be brought to the exam space for health services by a provider.
Two medical exam rooms, one case management room, and two behavioral health exam rooms can be found in the space.
Our Case Management team connects visitors with resources for short-term shelter, meals and other local services.

Unity Care NW is part of Bombas’ Giving Partner network of over 3,500 organizations across the United States that distribute new and thoughtfully designed clothing items to individuals at risk or currently experiencing homelessness. We are grateful to be able to provide essential clothing items for unhoused clients at The Way Station.The medical respite program is managed by the Opportunity Council in collaboration with PeaceHealth. 16 beds are available for individuals discharged from the hospital who need a temporary, supportive place to heal.
